Rogaland

Rogaland county has a population of 388,848 and is situated on Norway's southwestern corner. Stavanger is the capital and largest city with a population of 112,405. The Bokn fjord dominates the northern part of the county while the southern part includes Jæren, with some of the most fertile land in Norway. The beautiful Lysefjord with the famous Pulpit Rock is in Rogaland. The county name means the l and of the Ryger, the tribe that is believed to have settled there over 2000 years ago.
