Hedmark

Hedmark county has a population of 188,326 and is located just north of Oslo. The county is completely landlocked and borders Sweden along its entire length. Norways longest river, Glomma, and its longest valley, Østerdalen, are in Hedmark.

The county name means Land of the Heides, an old tribe which had occupied that area.

Hamar is the capital and largest town, with a population of 27,245.
